DGB Bundesvorstand
Building wayfinding system
A guidance and orientation system was developed for the Asset and Trust Company of the German Trade Union Confederation (mnH), reflecting the values of the DGB and the architectural design of the “Hans Böckler House.” The new building, named after the first DGB chairman Hans Böckler, is centrally located near Wittenbergplatz in Berlin-Schöneberg and features a clear, minimalist architectural style. Elements of the design language of the DGB logo and the distinctive staircase geometry of the building are subtly incorporated into the guidance concept. The design follows minimalist and functional principles to ensure clear and intuitive orientation for employees and visitors.

In the three interconnected building sections, linked by a multi-story foyer, a clear and functional guidance system navigates through the space. This includes digital elements that provide an overview via floor plans and display daily events in real time.
The highlight of the spacious foyer is the digital totem, wrapped with DGB slogans and broadcasting comprehensive information about the DGB. These digital elements align with the visual clarity and simplicity of the guidance system, seamlessly integrating into the architecture.
The underground parking garage was also incorporated into the guidance system concept and equipped with clearly structured signage and orientation elements. The design reflects the visual language of the overarching guidance concept, ensuring intuitive navigation and easy identification of parking spaces.
