The bi­en­nial in­ter­na­tional con­fer­ence brings to­gether re­searchers and prac­ti­tion­ers of in­for­ma­tion de­sign and vi­su­al­iza­tion to dis­cuss com­mon is­sues and chal­lenges. Sibylle Schlaich and Anita Meier give a lec­ture on pub­lic pic­tograms and their trends for the fu­ture. A pic­togram study car­ried out by Moni­teurs is pre­sented, which aims to raise aware­ness of how to han­dle pic­tograms and iden­tify trends for fu­ture vi­su­al­iza­tion.
