The Märkische Quarter

Orientation System

The Märkische Quarter in Berlin is a metropolitan area of 3.2 square kilometres with nearly 40,000 residents, the orientation of which is not easy. The district office of Berlin Reineckendorf recently held a competition to redesign the orientation system, which Moniteurs won in 2013, and the firm, accompanied by the environmental psychologists from PSY:PLAN, will be working on a new concept. PSY:PLAN will research and consult for the project in the fields of architecture and the psychology of perception. Moniteurs already worked intensely in this area in 2006, developing an orientation system for several residential buildings for the organisation Gesobau.
