The BDA (the As­so­ci­a­tion of Ger­man Ar­chi­tects) com­prises around 5,000 free­lance ar­chi­tects and ur­ban plan­ners, who stand for qual­ity and per­sonal in­tegrity and were for these rea­sons called into the as­so­ci­a­tion. It acts at dif­fer­ent lev­els within the Fed­er­a­tion, in state or­gan­i­sa­tions and re­gional groups to pro­mote “the mis­sion” of ar­chi­tec­ture and build­ing cul­ture. The new web­site is in­tended as a com­mon plat­form for these as­so­ci­a­tions and groups. The main con­cern was to show “good” ar­chi­tec­ture – in other words, vi­su­ally strik­ing and at­trac­tive, with a fo­cus on the mul­ti­fac­eted sub­ject of ar­chi­tec­ture. Be­sides its func­tion as an in­for­ma­tion and ex­change plat­form for the in­di­vid­ual mem­bers, it was im­por­tant to pro­vide in­for­ma­tion to the pub­lic, e.g., con­struc­tion clients and ar­chi­tects, on the work of the BDA. The com­plex struc­ture had to be de­signed to be sim­ple and user-friendly. A fur­ther im­por­tant cri­te­rion was that the web­site has to be main­tained by many mem­bers/​​ed­i­tors. A sim­ple con­tent man­age­ment sys­tem was re­quired, with the abil­ity to share con­tent both in­ter­nally as well as ex­ter­nally.

hammeskrause ar­chitek­ten, an ar­chi­tec­tural of­fice from Stuttgart, is spe­cial­ized in pro­jects in the fields of in­dus­try, pub­lic build­ings, build­ings for care and health, and es­pe­cially in sci­ence and re­search build­ings with some­times highly com­plex re­quire­ments.

In 2018, a move to more mod­ern premises marked an in­ten­sive phase of fur­ther de­vel­op­ment – hammeskrause was look­ing for a part­ner to work with them on a sta­ble foun­da­tion and de­velop a con­tem­po­rary and mod­ern ex­ter­nal im­age.

One of the most renowned Ger­man or­a­to­rio choirs has a new in­ter­net pres­ence: the web­site, cre­ated af­ter the cor­po­rate de­sign de­vel­oped by Moni­teurs, gives vi­sual, his­tor­i­cal and acoustic in­sights into the work of the tra­di­tion-rich choir. Large-for­mat im­ages, in­tense colours and ty­pog­ra­phy as a cen­tral de­sign el­e­ment con­vey not only the con­tem­po­rary rel­e­vance of the work, but also the power, live­li­ness and va­ri­ety of the choir.

The site is run through a con­tent-man­age­ment sys­tem. A lot of ed­i­to­r­ial con­tent, such as news or fu­ture con­certs, en­sured that our mis­sion was not only to adapt the sys­tem to the vis­i­tors, but also to the needs of the choir mem­bers. An in­te­grated pro­tected area for or­gan­is­ing the choir – for ex­am­ple, the plan­ning of re­hearsals, the cre­ation of sur­veys or the shar­ing of in­ter­nal pic­ture gal­leries – meets these de­mands.
