The new Kunsthalle Praha revitalizes a former substation in the historic center of Prague. The building was largely gutted and rebuilt. Parts of the existing building have been preserved, creating an exciting spatial experience with many intermediate levels, vistas and exits for visitors. A complex task for Moniteurs. We were happy to take on the challenge. The Kunsthalle opened its doors in spring.
Terminal building T2 has opened, adding six million passengers a year to BER's capacity and capable of handling around 2,000 passengers during peak hours. Together with Prof. Indra Kupferschmid, Sibylle Schlaich is teaching at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar this winter semester. Signs, slips of paper, signs indicate where we are or where we should go. Already from one copy we have to think about how it looks, where it hangs, whom it should address, and where it points. How does guiding work? What are the types - and qualities - of paths? In this project, we will discuss orientation, signs and guidance systems, lend a hand ourselves and design an individual wayfinding system.
The lecture by Sibylle Schlaich is about the design of a gender-neutral pictogram. A pictogram must be unambiguous. However, the more versatile the message to be communicated, the more difficult it is to design. The necessary abstraction may neglect important distinguishing features. In fact, some pictograms do not distill the essentials, but seek their uniqueness based on non-essential externals. A gender-neutral pictogram is a contradiction in terms. > Isotype and beyond
The publication “multilayered - constructive diversity”, which Moniteurs designed for the engineering firm schlaich bergermann partner, convinced the jury of the Iconic Award not only in form but also in content. They positively emphasised that the publication also includes the level of art and the possibility of seeing the projects in a further dimension, in augmented reality. > Iconic Award 2021

Combining function with identity, the wayfinding system forms a design bracket for the entire BER-Campus.
The airport has its dress rehearsal and is being tested with the help of the ORAT program. The program is an internationally established standard for the commissioning of airports. 800 to 1000 participants help to simulate and thus test the airport operation.
